Today, I would like to showoffcase some work that I did in school. I did these visual for the John Galliano/Christian Dior inspired project - that very project I did not to hand in.
Original Picture This is the original picture I scanned in from a book I loaned from the library. In order to suit my theme, I made some changes to this picture.

Research Journal Although I haven’t seen Sin City, I was greatly inspired by the visuals from the poster and yadayada. This picture looks soo red-hot here. But the hardcopy I have is a more subdued red like blood red, than red-hot-chilli-pepper red. This is for my A4 size research journal.

moodboard For the uninitiated, a moodboard is a pictorial composition of the stuff/visuals that inspires a designer. The reason why my moodboard has sooo much space is because I still have to stick fabric swatches on my board.

Although my work is inspired by the two designers I mentioned above, I still have to think of an original theme (this project is damn confusing man). So I decided to based my theme on poppy flowers. After all, poppy are the icon of war dead. Quite suitable since the New Look surfaced in 1947, after WWII.

Other than just creating picture for boards here and there, the toughest part would be when I have to think of suitable title to match. I don’t know if other find this easy or not, but I hate the process of coming up with a title. I want a title that hit the nail on the spot, but at the same time, not too boring and unexciting. I want something cool and unique too.

I don’t know if Scarlet Fever is cool or not, but I got this idea after reading a tabloid news on Scarlett Johansson.

Okay, that’s all. Will post my sketches and design up once its done. Hopefully I can finish it up and present it for the portfolio review.
