Is it offensive if I change the skintone of my illustrations to match the intended wearers?

I risk being call a white-litist or racist. But as a designer, it’s only sensible if I pay attention to my wearers’ skintone, right?

It’s like shooting a line of bikinis for a catalog, and every single model used has pasty white skin.

If anyone asked, I’m going to say the wearers are under the sun a whole lot, it’s only natural they have sun-kissed skins.
